No one is safe…

As you all know, I recently decided to dive into this photography thing. I believe the way I approached it was what one would call, “all in.” That is how things normally go with me, all or nothing – which can be good and bad, to be quite honest. I began this journey in October, had a website and Instagram up and running by November, and booked families and friends for Christmas photos in December! It’s been a whirlwind y’all, but, nothing short of incredible.

Now that the craziness of the holidays is over, it’s back to the grind. Literally, growing a photography business in Charlotte is not for the faint of heart. Couple that with a full-time job, wild 11-month-old, keeping up a marriage, trying to lose those *last* 10 pounds, maintaining friendships, sanity, and trying to sleep somewhere in there, there is not a moment of downtime. That being said, I use those last 30 minutes of the day before falling asleep to plot my Charlotte takeover. Did I mention I’m also planning my daughter’s 1st birthday party? And we’re getting a new puppy in 10 days? Life is beautiful, folks.

All this to introduce my second blog post – in what I hope, will be a normal routine. Let’s pile another to-do on list, Jasmin… Without further ado, meet my friend Amelia. Mils, for short, lives in Philadelphia and is one of the sweetest souls you will ever find. She is an amazing elementary school teacher and is newly-ish engaged. She recently visited us, naturally bringing along her fiancé, and (maybe the best part?) her sweet pup, Gretchen, that I fully intend on stealing somehow. The next progression is obviously forcing them into pictures to help grow my portfolio, #sorrynotsorry.

If you’re local to Charlotte, you know the weather has been miserably wet. We persevered and made the best of it though, pinteresting like mad women the night before, “cute poses for couples in the rain”. There may have been wine involved? I may be biased but these are some of my favorite photos to date, mostly because of Gretchen… but also because my friend is beautiful and you can clearly see how happy she is.

Are you crying yet, Mils?

For the rest of you, your reading this means a ton and I’m so thankful for the support! Here’s to talking again soon!
